Appreciating my Dreams

I am in Grateful Appreciation for my dreams. I believe they can enlighten us and often there is a message contained in the sometimes wonderfully strange imagery.

I had one of those dreams a number of nights ago in the early morning. It was the kind of dream that comes upon waking. Half asleep, half awake it unfolded before me. It was an experience when I was acutely aware of the dream and in a semi-awake state I knew I was dreaming. It is called Lucid Dreaming. Let me describe it for you.

I was with a group of people sitting in a room that was not a “room.” It was like an enclosure but not defined, having walls that didn’t really seem to be walls at all. Remember this is a dream. We were led to go inside of ourselves where we would find a paper. It was large like a poster board but looked very old like parchment. As I looked at the “parchment” before me I began to see images emerge, like pictures on the flat surface. They seemed to change depending on what I was thinking about. We were directed to “see” before us a variety of small objects we might be able to hold in our hand. As I looked at the parchment like space before me I saw a number of random objects, some familiar and some I had not seen before. I heard a “voice”, not knowing if it came from within or without, saying choose one and highlight it. I remember thinking that to be odd as this was not, after all, some sort of computer program! As I gazed at the images one “caught my attention” and I fixed my focus on it. It was a rather ornate necklace. It began to glow as if it was highlighted above the other objects which began to fade in comparison. After a moment I felt compelled to stretch out my hand before me. I gazed at my open palm and it felt warm and then tingly, like when waking from being “asleep.” Then the necklace suddenly appeared in my hand, not as a flat picture but as a real necklace. I remember saying to myself, “Wow, how cool is that!!” I looked around for the parchment but it was gone. Half awake and half asleep………”this is a dream, right?” Yes, and I turned it back on again.

I wanted to do it again. Did this really work? Let’s see………. Back in my dream I found once again the parchment and focused upon it. It was a strange feeling. I remember both wanting to “see” specific things there and at the same time wanting something random to emerge. As I gazed intensely nothing seemed to happen at first, but then slowly images began to emerge. I wasn’t sure what they were until the images sharpened and became more defined. As I looked at them I focused on a beautiful butterfly, and as before highlighted that image with the energy of my attention to it and a frequency that matched the butterfly. I, now, do not remember what the others were as they quickly faded away. With great excitement I, once again, stretched out my hand and opened it palm up. As I looked at my palm I sensed the same feeling as before and there was the butterfly! Not the picture but the “real” butterfly gently moving its colorful wings back and forth. I remember having a similar experience with a butterfly on my hand in the Butterfly House at the Pacific Science Center in Seattle. This one was just as real. Awesome!!! The butterfly flew off and I immediately searched for the parchment once more. This time the image I highlighted was a hummingbird and following the same process the beautiful bird was soon sitting on my hand! He cocked his head, looked me in the eye, as if to say “thank you”, hovered before me and then darted off.

The next thing I remember was waking, sitting up in bed, and looking for the butterfly and the hummingbird. I knew that somehow the energy and intention of my focus, the highlighting and calling them forth, had on some level actually created them. What is the message of the dream? What truth is being revealed. I know that there is great power of attraction and manifestation that comes from the vibrational energy of that upon which we focus. If we focus on “the problem” that is what we will encounter, while, if we focus on “the solution”, it will unfold before us. I believe the dream is a confirmation that we create our own reality. What we “highlight”, where we focus our vibrational energy, where our feelings are attached, that is what we attract and what is manifested in our reality. Does that mean we can produce a butterfly in the palm of our hand? I refuse to say it is impossible.

I believe this is exactly what Jesus did when he healed people instantly. He focused the totality of the pure Source energy of his loving intention on the person as “whole.” He “saw” them as healed and instantly they were! Now, you are saying, “Yes, but that is Jesus.” Remember however, two things he said, “I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these…..”. He prayed to God, “that they (we) may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe…..” So, if he prayed that we are to be One with him, and told us that we will do even greater things than he…………., then we too can focus the Source energy of our loving intentions and “see” and know the reality that we wish to create! Are we going to go around popping butterfly’s out of our hands? I doubt that, but his I know. We are able to go through life lovingly touching others with the Source Energy that is in us and bringing to them their Highest and Best. Healing. Peace. Contentment. Joy. Love……… The List goes on and on.

Try this. The next time you are with someone who is sad, discouraged or down……. Focus your love, the Source energy of your All, on their Highest and Best. “See” a picture of then happy, encouraged about their life, and with high positive energy. Hold that energy for them as you “touch” them with your presence. I am knowing with you that it will change their life, and yours.

Remember, Greater things will you do!!! With Grateful Appreciation for all that we are able to create in the power of love!
